February 4, 2019 today is the second
week of my teaching practice but my mentor asked to be exchanged for his class
with my friend, so I now teach in 10th grade MMM and my friend teaches in class
10 PLC. This class is also referred to as a regular class, the difference is
that regular class with science class is only different in facilities but the
teaching is the same, if the science class has AC in its classroom while in the
regular class the AC is just an ordinary fan. In this class I am still learning
material about the process of DNA replication and transcription, so I explained
the material again and presented a video to make it easier for students to
understand the material, today only learn about DNA replication and students
are given the task of identifying enzymes that work in the replication process
DNA and each of its functions. This class is also as fun as the science class,
the students are active and creative, easy to understand about the material
presented. In the morning I observed my mentor in class, but only briefly
because the students were preparing an art performance held by his university,
therefore my mentor only gave me the task of analyzing fingerprints why it was
different from one person to another.

February 5, 2019 today is a national
holiday because today is the commemoration of the Chinese New Year or often
referred to as the Lunar New Year so that learning is off. Our activities are
as usual if we are going to make learning materials and make papers for
reports, besides we take the time to buy food, all around the place in Surigao
City. There were not many activities that we did during the school holidays
because they were saving money for financial expenses.
February 6, 2019 today is also a
holiday for us because there is no teaching practice schedule and we fill in
the work on re-teaching materials that have not been completed, and work on
papers. In the morning, as usual, we take part in a flag ceremony which is held
regularly every morning before the learning process is carried out. If
Wednesday learning is only until 3:00 pm while the normal day until 5.00 pm
February 7, 2019 second day teaches
in MMM 10th grade, today we learn about transcription and translation and
fertilization that occurs in humans, students in this class are very
enthusiastic because in this study the video about the fertilization process
that occurs in the female reproductive system starts from the injection of
sperm cells to the formation of the fetus and the process of fetal growth per
week and shows videos of the transcription and translation processes that occur
in the cell nucleus and ribosomes in the cytoplasm . This video aims to make it
easier for students to visualize the fertilization process and the
transcription and translation process to form proteins needed by the human
body. As always after finishing the lesson we conclude what has been learned
today. Today the learning time is cut to 50 minutes per session because the
school is preparing for accreditation so that the last hour is used by teachers
to work on what is needed by the school in preparation for accreditation.

February 8, 2019 today is the last
day of our teaching practice on this program, the last day I use to deliver the
final material is about mutations that occur in humans. In this material I
present several examples of mutations that occur in humans so students can know
the effect of mutations in humans. And displays several kinds of mutation
processes that may occur in genes and chromosomes of living things. On this day
we also delivered farewells to 10th grade students of MMM and class students
made us good-byes also written on the white board and drew our faces on the
white board and we took the time to take pictures together with MMM 10th
graders. And we did farewell to class 10 PLC in this class. We were given a
farewell song sung by students and we did not forget to take a photo together
with this class 10 PLC.

February 10, 2019 today is our
holiday filled with hunting souvenirs, more specifically checking the prices of
items to be bought for souvenirs. First we go to Surigao Metro, which is a
shopping center that sells typical Filipino clothes and then looks for places
that sell special souvenirs such as key chains, and so on. But unfortunately
this is Sunday so that many shops that are closed may be due to residents
there, the majority of whom are Catholic Christians so that Sunday becomes a
holiday they trade. And we went back to school but did not go directly to
school but went to another shopping center, Gaisano Surigao, here we bought
some special foods, which are the most famous Dried Mango here and some
processed from durian and peanuts. Dried Mango is a food derived from mango
ingredients that is preserved or often called candied if in Indonesia.
February 11, 2019 today there is no
activity in our schedule so we use it to buy souvenirs which yesterday the shop
was closed, and finally we bought several keychains, bracelets, some also
bought special souvenirs for display. But we did not arrive in the afternoon
because Sister Nicole had been waiting in the dormitory to discuss tomorrow's
program, namely the farewell and cultural performance of each region. In the
afternoon we performed dance exercises which will be displayed at a cultural
performance event at the Senior High School conference room. At night we also
practice dance in the girls' dormitory.
February 12, 2019 today is the day
where the farewell and cultural performances of each region are held. In the
morning my friend and I took the time to make a video about this student
exchange program and expose the place in Basic Education St. Paul University
Surigao. The cultural appearance and farewell program began at 3:00 pm but we
were getting ready to use our traditional contours from 1.00 o'clock. The
program began with singing national anthems from each country, namely from
Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand, then continued with spiritual songs,
remarks from Principal Basic Education St. Paul University Surigao,
performances from elementary school students, share experiences from
SEA-Teacher Project participants from Indonesia, cultural performances from
participants from Thailand, regional dance performances from Junior High School
students, namely "duck-duck" dance, cultural performances from
Indonesia, share teaching practice experience from participants from Thailand,
distributing certificates from St. Paul University Surigao for student exchange
participants, giving certificates to Cooperating Teachers, distributing
certificates for those involved in the Batch 7 SEA-Teacher project, giving
placards from SPUS and from their respective home campuses and then closing by
farewell from the university vice president of academics . After finishing the
event, we also took pictures together with Student Buddies, Cooperating
Teachers, Principal Basic Education, SEAMEO SEA-Teacher Project Coordinators
and so on. After the photo session was over we also had dinner in the shared
canteen and said goodbye many times.
